Food in Kodiak is generally good, and not overpriced.

Harborside Coffee & Goods, 216 Shelikof St (phone 907/486-5862), offers coffee, pastries, soups and muffins

El Chicano, 103 Center Ave (phone 907/486-6116), presents faintly Americanized Mexican dishes at very reasonable prices

The Chart Room, inside the Best Western at 236 W Rezanof Drive (phone 907/486-5712), has Kodiak's most formal dining, serving king crab legs ($30) or halibut steaks ($17) with good harbor views.

Henry's Great Alaskan Restaurant, 512 Marine Way (phone 907/486-3313), is the downtown entertainment hub, open from 11am until the fun runs out.
